Leading online hotel booking company, Jumia Travel has announced the launch of a flight booking service which allows travellers to find, compare, and book flights.
Travellers can use the service for both domestic and international flights and they can buy air tickets online with ease directly from various airline companies across the world right on the platform.
Payments can be made via credit cards or through cash, and there’s a mobile phone payment option as well. For inquiries, travellers have a 24 hours local customer service at their disposal.
“Jumia Travel aims at capitalizing on a market that is progressively driving hospitality demand in the continent. With the International Air Transport Association, ‘IATA’ predicting a strong growth of 4.8% in passenger numbers in Africa in the next 5 years, this confirms our strategic commitment to provide infinite travel solutions to travellers,” said Paul Midy, CEO of Jumia Travel.
The new service, which is a major boost to its offerings, is part of the company’s broader programme to streamline travel in Africa through a one stop travel shop providing accommodation, packages, and flights.
Together with its recently launched holiday packages, which aims to foster domestic tourism in Africa, Jumia Travel will continue to support easy access to both African and universal destinations.
Formerly Jovago, Jumia Travel houses more than 25,000 hotels in Africa and more than 200,000 hotels around the world. Its aim is to create the easiest and cheapest way for customers to book hotels on the continent.
